Stuart's MINDFULNESS
Welcome to my mindfulness pages.  I hope you will find them informative and will be encouraged to approach me to teach you the essence of this wonderful practice.  I am based in Scunthorpe and deliver mindfulness and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) throughout North Lincolnshire and surrounding counties.  I started meditation in 1987 followed a year later by the practise of yoga, since 2000 I have made my living through yoga teaching and I am now a Yoga Alliance Professionals Senior Yoga Teacher, their highest teaching status award.
I undertook my teacher training to deliver Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction through Bangor University, where I was fortunate to work with Pam Erdmann a working colleague of Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn at the UMASS Centre for Mindfulness - the originator of MBSR.  I have  CPD most recently (2017) with Melissa Blacker and David Rynick at Oxford University Centre for Mindfulness

Delivery of mindfulness requires CPD and supervision by a practised and experienced supervisor; over-seen in UK I adhere to this in my delivery of mindfulness based courses.

I have achieved certification in counselling skills. I deliver my mindfulness as I deliver my yoga, from a secular perspective.  Mindfulness is traditionally delivered in a group setting. I am very happy to also work on a one to one basis to deliver mindfulness training.  Please contact me me any questions.  I will be very happy to help.

What is Mindfulness ?

'Mindfulness is the awarness that emerges through paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the present moment and non judgementally to things as they are.  It allows to see see clearly whatever is happening in our lives.'
The Mindful Way Workbook Teasdale, Williams, Segal 2014

What does it do ?

'Mindfulness means we can know our mode of mind from moment to moment.  This means we can be aware when we are falling into the grip of the driven-doing mode.'
The Mindful Way Workbook Teasdale, Williams, Segal 2014
